Our Manufacturers
At Close Co. we're dedicated to sourcing the most skilled craftsmen across the UK. Each product in our collection reflects this commitment to artistry. Prior to collaborating with a new manufacturing partner, we rigorously assess them against our high standards, encompassing ethical business practices, exceptional quality control, and environmental responsibility. This ensures that every piece from Close Co. is designed and crafted with utmost integrity and care.
Kid-Friendly Products
At Close Co. we recognise the delicate balance between style and functionality. Highlighted below are select options tailored for households with young children.
Our Awe Sofa is meticulously crafted for endurance. This robust yet resilient model is ideal for the demands of family living. Opting for darker shades can gracefully mask the occasional fingerprint, and its streamlined silhouette ensures accessibility for all family members.
The Windermere Sofa, with its generously deep cushions, is the ideal choice for family gatherings. A perfect centrepiece for movie nights, ensuring ample space for everyone. The only deliberation remains over the popcorn distribution.
Accuracy of Our Photos
The lifestyle imagery on our website is crafted by professional photographers, capturing our products under lighting typical of residential settings. At Close Co. precision and authenticity are paramount; thus, we aim to depict the true finish, colour, and texture of our items.
However, display variations across monitors or printers might present slight deviations in image reproduction. It's also worth noting that some natural differences may exist within the raw materials we select. Consequently, the product you receive might exhibit minor distinctions when compared to the showcased photo.
For an authentic glimpse, we try to incorporate customer images on our website, clearly marking them. Yet, these photographs, while offering real-world context, might be influenced by varied lighting, camera specifications, and customer-applied filters.
For the most accurate visual representation of our products, we recommend referring to the studio photography present on our product description pages.
Weight Capacity
Our furniture is meticulously crafted for standard residential settings. However, we haven't subjected them to specific weight capacity testing. Consequently, we are unable to provide recommended weight capacities.
Martindale Rating
Within our collection, each upholstered item proudly displays its Martindale Score on our fabrics page. This score offers insight into the fabric's resilience, gauging its suitability for various applications. The metric, expressed in rubs, evaluates the fabric's resistance to wear and tear. A higher score signifies heightened durability, catering to more frequent or intensive use. For context, standard household fabrics usually boast scores around the 20,000 mark, denoting the number of rubs they can endure before signs of wear emerge.
Stain Resistance
Close Co. is deeply committed to steering clear of introducing aggressive chemicals into our products. As a result, most of our materials are not designed with stain-resistance in mind. We would like to advise caution regarding the application of products like Scotchgard, as we cannot vouch for their effectiveness or results on our furniture.
It's also essential to note that applying any stain-resistant solution will render the products warranty null and void.
Regulatory Compliance
At Close Co. the well-being of our customers is paramount. In our unwavering commitment to this principle, we adhere to stringent standards:
Each product within the Close Co. range undergoes thorough testing to ensure its safety and endurance. Through in-depth in-house evaluations, we validate that our items are wholly suited for the sanctity of your home and the protection of your loved ones.
We are consistently dedicated to minimising any potentially harmful constituents in our offerings.
The composite wood elements present in our sofas, in conjunction with their fabrics, are meticulously assessed for formaldehyde emissions. It is imperative that our products are compliant with prevailing regulatory benchmarks.
While wood composites, such as MDF and plywood, might contain nominal formaldehyde residues, we guarantee that our products abide by consumer safety regulations.
It's essential to understand that foam is a synthetic entity, constituted from a blend of benign chemicals. As a result, minimal traces of fire retardant chemicals, intrinsic to the foam, persist. However, these levels are strictly within the boundaries set by consumer safety standards and regulatory directives.
Guided by our ethos, we exercise prudence, refraining from introducing superfluous chemicals during the production process.
